Central Transport Hub. Building Poland's New Transfer Airport

About the report:

Scenarios for the development of the Central Communication Port along with legal and financial analysis. The report presents the development of air traffic in Poland in recent years and the ranges of operation of Polish regional airports. The financial and legal analysis was enriched with an investment perspective, within possible legal solutions and sources of capital. The mechanisms of the impact of the aviation industry on the economy were presented as well as the impact of investments on GDP in Poland and the gross value added in related industries. The report also presents an analysis of case studies of other aviation hubs in Europe.

  • The capacity gap in European airports is one of the biggest problems and challenges facing airports in the region and Europe.
  • It is estimated that 160 million passengers will not be able to use air transport in Europe in 2040.
  • A decision on the expansion of airports in Central Poland is delayed by at least 5 years - it should have been taken before 2013.
  • The construction of the Central Airport is a long-term process and investment providing significant development impulses.
  • It is estimated that the total demand effects of the CPK construction will increase GDP by approx. 3.2 per cent under construction, and the sustained impact of investments on Polish GDP will fluctuate around 4.5 per cent.
